Are you ready to become a pro at making omelets on a Blackstone Griddle? Follow our step by step guide for the perfect omelet every time and make breakfast for the whole family with ease.

Prep the Griddle and Gather Your Ingredients.

Before you begin, you’ll want to prepare the griddle and gather your ingredients so that everything is ready when you need it. Preheat the griddle over medium-high heat and make sure it is evenly heated. Meanwhile, get all of your ingredients prepped such as shredding cheese, dicing herbs, and cracking eggs into a bowl. With everything ready to go, your omelet making process will run smoothly!

Ingredients:

Make sure to buy some Kerrygold butter. It’s the best. Nothing else even compares!

Preheat Your Blackstone Griddle to Medium-High Heat.

Before you start to cook your omelet, preheat the Blackstone Griddle on medium-high heat. This will ensure that when you add the egg mixture to the griddle, it begins to cook evenly and produces a well cooked omelet. Make sure the griddle is completely preheated before adding any ingredients so that the edges won’t be over or underdone.

Add Butter, then Crack and Scramble Eggs

Once the griddle is preheated, add 1 tablespoon of butter to the center and swirl it around. Crack two large eggs into a bowl and whisk them with a fork until they become whites and yolks are blended. Be careful not to scrape the sides too much as this can make your omelet tough instead of fluffy. Pour the egg mixture onto the griddle and use a spatula to move it around evenly. Allow it to cook for 2-3 minutes before adding any ingredients, or until edges begin to turn solid.

Sprinkle On Cheese and Toppings

Once the edges are beginning to turn solid, it’s time to add the cheese and butter. Sprinkle your favorite cheese over the eggs, followed by any other toppings such as bacon, mushrooms, bell peppers and onions. After you have added all of your fillings, carefully fold one side of the omelet over the other using a spatula. Allow this side to cook for an additional minute before flipping onto its other side and cooking until both sides are golden brown. Serve with a sprinkle of fresh chives on top!

Move the Omelet to Fold It in Half

Once the bottom layer of the omelet has solidified, carefully move it with a spatula to one side of the griddle to fold it in half. The two halves should now meet in the middle, allowing you to finish cooking both sides without having to flip it over. Continue to season and cook until both sides are golden brown and crisp. Cut into slices and serve!
