Mattel’s Masters of the Universe Origins action figure line has been creating waves in the toy industry since its launch in 2020. With a focus on bringing back classic characters from the original Masters of the Universe line, Mattel has been consistently releasing new figures with updated designs and features.
Recent releases in the line have shown that Mattel is expanding the line to include more characters from the Princess of Power franchise. These additions have included figures like Snake Teela, rolling mold changes, and a Power-Con 2020 Exclusive She-Ra figure with rooted hair.
Looking at the new female, and unisex parts that have been released in recent figures, it’s clear that Mattel is preparing to release a new wave of Princess of Power figures in late 2024, which coincides with the 40th Anniversary of She-Ra. For example, the Snake Teela release boasts an entirely new torso sculpt, with brand new boots, and utilizes the rolling mold changes with the updated knees. The Teela & Zoar 2 Pack included a new Teela figure with the updated knees, brighter colors and subtle changes. Evil-Lyn 2 was just a different color scheme, not much changed there, but had the new knees as well. This shows that these rolling improvements will be carried over to any new female characters in the line.
Given the new parts and accessories being produced, fans can speculate about which Princess of Power characters are likely to be added to the MOTU Origins line in the near future. Some of the most popular possibilities include Scorpia, Mermista, Perfuma, Netossa, Spinnerella, Bow, Loo-Kee, and Sea Hawk.
Scorpia, a member of the Evil Horde, has been a popular character among fans since her debut in the original animated series. Her unique design, featuring a scorpion tail and clawed hands, would make for a visually stunning figure.
Mermista, the Princess of Salineas and a member of the Rebellion, is another fan favorite. Her aquatic-themed design, complete with a mermaid tail, would be a standout addition to the line.
Perfuma, a member of the Great Rebellion, would bring a new level of whimsy to the line with her floral-themed design and powers over plants.
Netossa and Spinnerella, members of the Great Rebellion who have the power to control nets and whirlwinds respectively, would both make for unique additions to the line with their distinctive powers and designs.
Bow, the male member of the Great Rebellion known for his archery skills and flamboyant style, would be a welcome addition to the line for fans who want to see more male characters represented.
Loo-Kee, the elusive Eternian who would hide in each episode of the original animated series, would be a fun and playful addition to the line.
Finally, Sea Hawk, the pirate and love interest of She-Ra, would add a swashbuckling element to the line with his pirate outfit and rapier sword.
Mattel’s Masters of the Universe Origins action figure line is set to expand in late 2024 with the addition of more Princess of Power characters.
